Few high-profile marriages last a lifetime, but diamonds last forever. Here are six of the best wedding and engagement rings to grace the hands of Hollywood A-listers in recent times:
Margot Robbie appeared on the red carpet for the Legend of Tarzan premiere sporting a huge pink diamond engagement ring. Smaller, clear diamonds encircle the beautiful pink rock.
Robbie and boyfriend Tom Ackerley haven’t officially confirmed their engagement at the time of writing. Yet bearing in mind the size of the stone, wedding bells are surely on the horizon.
Madmen star Alison Brie is engaged to James Franco’s younger brother, Dave. Designed by Irene Neuwirth, Brie’s diamond solitaire engagement ring first appeared at the 2015 premiere of Sleeping with Other People, in which the actress stars.
From what we can see, the centre ring has to be at least three carats. This would value the stone at somewhere between £30,000 and £60,000.
The centre stone on Lada Gaga’s large heart-shaped engagement ring is 6 carats or more. From the photos, we’re guessing that the stone has a clarity rating of SI1; but it could be ever better. Meanwhile, the colour appears to G grade.
For a diamond of the quality and size, we estimate that it cost Gaga’s fiancé, Taylor Kinney, around £250,000. Yet if the centre stone is colourless and very slightly included, this could have raised the price to as much as £380,000.
When Ashton Kutcher proposed to Mila Kunis in 2014, he went for a round cut solitaire diamond – a real classic. Despite its understated look, we estimate this elegant stone cost at least £200,000.
While a highly-respected human rights lawyer rather than an actress, we believe Amal Clooney deserves a place on this list through marriage. After all, George Clooney is surely the classic Hollywood leading man. Experts estimate Mrs Clooney’s emerald-cut diamond is worth over £500,000.
Jennifer Aniston was surprised with a massive diamond engagement ring from boyfriend Justin Theroux in early 2015. Her rock looks to be a radiant cut-centre stone with around 8 carats. We estimate that this diamond cost Theroux as much as £300,000.
